Teachers Bio's
Staff:
Ms. Deb
Ms. Deb has been teaching children for the past 30 years. She has worked with preschoolers through adults teaching art, nature workshops, and leadership training in Livingston, Washtenaw and Genesse counties. Her undergraduate work is in Early Childhood Development from Eastern Michigan and her graduate work is also from Eastern Michigan in Educational Leadership. She is currently working on certification in Education through Music.
Mr. Joe
Mr. Joe has been teaching our adult stained glass class and some of our elementary summer classes for six years. Mr. Joe has received training in stained glass from several stained glass artisans. Currently, Mr. Joe is studying under Harald Eberhart the art of glass blowing. Mr. Joe has done classroom presentations and day camp programs over the last 20 years.
Ms. Julie
Ms. Julie is a graudate of U of M school of art and design. Julie comes to us with a wealth of knowledge. She has an extensive background in art history; studying at the University of Florence. Julie has worked for the Museum of Radio and Television in New York, the Billy Hork Art Galleries in Chicago and is currently working for the Mickteg group in Chicago. Julie is a guest and weekend instructor for us. Prior to moving to New York Julie taught art at a private school. Julie has been with us since 1999.
Ms. Sarah
Ms. Sarah has been teaching for us since 2001. Sarah is currently finishing up her Phd at Wayne State. Sarah brings youth, enthusiasm, and expertise to each of her classes. Sarah's favorite mediums to work in are watercolors and clay.
Mrs. Sandi
Mrs. Sandi has been teaching children for 25 years. Mrs. Sandi’s area of expertise is with preschoolers. Mrs. Sandi taught for me at a private school and we feel honored to have her as part of our teaching staff. Mrs. Sandi received her education from Michigan Tec.
*The classes are taught by our regular staff members: Ms. Deb, Mr. Joe, Ms. Julie, Ms Sarah and Mrs. Sandi . As a parent myself I know how important it is to know your child is in a safe environment. Each of our staff members has had a state police background check done on them. It is important to us as well as you that our child is safe while they are in our care.
